OthersSetting up a new Mac
I thought it would be a good idea to write down every application and step that I’m doing now, when setting up the new beast I just purchased. This way, when a new one will be needed, hopefully in not less than 5 to 10 years :-), I will be able to compare or refer to this list again.
It’s pretty interesting stuff. I probably missed some stuff, but while I transfer all my work from the Macbook Pro to the iMac this week, I’ll figure out what’s missing and keep updating the list.

Cum sa nu aplici pentru un job
In ultimele doua luni am avut experienta placuta de a primi cateva zeci de emailuri de la persoane care candidau pentru pozitiile pe care le-am avut disponibile la Vuzum. Desi apreciez fiecare email primit, sunt foarte multe lucruri pe care multi dintre acesti candidati le-au facut gresit.
Aceasta lista nu este nici pe departe completa, in schimb sunt lucrurile care mi-au ramas in minte pentru ca s-au repetat de foarte multe ori.
Un an plin, un an productiv!
Se anunta a fi un an foarte bun pentru Vuzum, nu neaparat din punct de vedere financiar, ci strategic. Speram ca deciziile pe care le luam acum, sa fie cele care vor sta la baza cresterii noastre ca si companie mai departe. (more…)
Designers, designers, designers, designers…
It becomes clearer and clearer to me that design is more about the idea and the execution, than the knowledge of the proper tools. A web designer that doesn’t research continuously is equal to 0. I repeat, web designer. Because web design is no art, and there’s a ton of theory that goes behind the elements that make a web site.
I have seen so many bad designers lately, that my eyes hurts. (more…)
