The Bootstrapper’s Manifesto
I am a bootstrapper. I have initiative and insight and guts, but not much money. I will succeed because my efforts and my focus will defeat bigger and better-funded competitors. I am fearless. I keep my focus on growing the business—not on politics, career advancement, or other wasteful distractions. (more…)
Vuzum’s first website
I would like to share but also get your feedback on the direction we’re headed with our company’s website. You can view the progress here.
Notes:
- We decided to use Flash only where needed, so it won’t be a full flash website, as we originally wanted. We offer a wide range of services, so it’s probably best to allow our customers to view the website on any device and platform.
- There will be a separate version for mobile, so you should not take that into consideration for the desktop version, when providing feedback.
- The structure is pretty much set, we don’t plan to add or remove any of the sections that are now in the layout.
- The focus is on the work. We try to keep it as simple as possible for any user to get in touch, enjoy some work or find out about us.
Progress
It’s been more than a year since I started this project, but we’re getting close to finishing the first step, which is the structure and the walls.
You can view some of the images of how the building progressed on Flickr. I’m actually waiting for the construction to be completed in order to make some proper images! :)

Tamás
This is a public reply on the email I received from Tamás, with his permission. It should help me share a link to this article every time I receive similar emails, but also hopefully help some of you guys know how I do it.
What I do is not rocket science, and it can be merged in three essential points. Spend enough time on each of them and you’ll do fine. Without further ado.. (more…)
Mac OS App Store
Yesterday Apple announced they are working on the App Store for the MAC. This will be similar to what you have on your iPhone / iPod / iPad, except it will work with applications for the desktop.
Among the other things they announced, I’m also excited about FaceTime, as this will definitely bring a productivity boost among us, MAC users doing web work. (Skype must be worried)
